About Us
About the club
The club is new to the area and going well, It goes without saying that "a club" is its people, and we have a mixture of men and women from different cultures and backgrounds.
You don't have to be super fit to do Jiu Jitsu, but you will find that regular practice helps you become fit.
The usual routine at the club is firstly to do 20 or so minutes of exercise warm up, to get the body limbered up. The main bulk of training is practicing good technique, involving locking, throwing and so on.
Women can do particularly well because one concept of Jiu Jitsu is to apply leverage to an attackers force, enabling a weaker person to overcome a stronger one. No matter your size or the size of your attacker
We wear the classic "Gi" or training costume , but beginners can wear flexible clothing such as a track suit.
The club is a friendly little unit and we are all are approachable. So come down for a chat and stay for a free session. Then a bit of socialising down the local Pub
New members are welcome so come on down!
